REDEVELOPMENT OF FOTA HOUSE & GARDENS CO. CORK, IRELAND
The development of a Business Plan, the provision of advice and the securing of grants and supports which have resulted in a financially viable and sustainable development of the site.
• Funds secured for the Project to date include:
• 2008 Department of Finance – E 5 million Endowment Grant
• 2008 Department of the Environment, Heritage & Local
Government – E 2 million Capital Grant.
• 2009 Failte Ireland Capital Grant E 1.7 million
• 2009 Donation of Art Collection and Tax designation
E 6.1 million
Total Funds Secured: E 14.8 million
The project demonstrates how a heritage attraction within the Harbour area has been developed within the context of the local, regional and national market for cultural tourism. It is also a key project with the capacity to successfully integrate with and complement the development of Spike Island as an integral part of the wider destination.
